Rev. Dr. Godwin Akpan Amaowoh
Apostle of Tupocracy
If you have heard the coinage, Tupocracy, it came from Rev. Dr. Godwin Akpan Amaowoh, General Secretary of Assemblies of God Nigeria, in his doctoral thesis on leadership. Tupocracy seeks to find company with such words as democracy, aristocracy, oligarchy, autocracy and gerontocracy in the discussion of leadership. Dr. Amaowoh coined the word Tupocracy during his doctoral research at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. The university’s Board of Examiners fell in love with it and recommended it for publication. Today, the usage of Tupocracy is monitored by a dictionary publishing firm seeking to include the super word in its lexicon.
