Enefiok Udo-Obong B.Sc, MSA, CPT, FIREP
Olympic gold medalist, Enefiok Udo-Obong is a writer, coach, administrator, entrepreneur and sportsman and author of two books, “The Silver Lining-Turning Major Setbacks into Major Victories” and “The Goldmine-Unleashing the Champion in You!”. He holds a bachelors in Human Anatomy from the University of Calabar and an Advanced Masters in Sports Administration and Technology from The École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne(EPFL), in Switzerland.
He is a certified personal fitness trainer, an accomplished athlete, and the only Nigerian male to win two Olympic medals: Gold in Sydney, Australia in 2000 and Bronze in Athens, Greece in 2004.
Voted Sportsman of the year 2000, and winner of the Dele Udo prize for sporting excellence, Enee as he is fondly called, captained Team Nigeria to the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002. He won six medals for Akwa Ibom at different national sports festivals and was nominated as one of the 50 most influential young Africans by African Digest in 2002.
Udo-Obong who sits on the boards of many sports association and committees is a member of the international Fitness Association (IFA) and American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and President of the Association of Fitness Practitioners in Nigeria.
His NGO, African Sports Support and Education Trust (ASSET) educates young African sports people and also to help improve the lives of retired and aging ex-sports men with no vocational skill. His Udo-Obong Athletics Academy runs training camps across Africa to promote peace and education through the sports of athletics.
