Dr. Emmanuel Ekott

Heritage Polytechnic, Eket is about the fastest growing and best equipped private Polytechnic in Nigeria. The Polytechnic which was only licenced in 2010 by the National Board for Technical Education ( NBTE) now awards the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in over 32 fully accredited courses. Behind this uncommon and successful vision is Dr Emmanuel Ekott, an indigene of Uqua village in Eket Local Government Area.
The Polytechnic evolved from a Continuing Education Centre and Heritage College which Dr Ekott started in 1996 and 2001 respectively. Dr Ekott attended the QIC Primary School, Usung Inyang, Eket; the Community Commercial Secondary School, Ikot Uso Ekong and the University of Uyo where he bagged a Bachelor of Science ( B.Sc) degree in Biochemistry. He later on acquired a Master of Engineering (M.Eng) degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Port Harcourt; another Master of Science ( M.Sc) in Environment Management and a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Education from the Imo State University and a Doctor of Philosophy ( Ph.D) from the Anambra State University.
Dr Ekott is a member of the Chemical Society of Nigeria; the Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers and the Nigeria Society of Engineers. He is also a registered Engineer by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria ( COREN). Dr Ekott has over 25 published researched works in both local and international academic journals. A member of the Apostolic Church, Dr Ekott is also the Obong Ifiok 1 of Eket, the Obong Unwana Ukwa and an Ambassador of Peace (of the International World Peace Organization).
