Barr Emmanuel Enoidem
That Barr Emmanuel Enoidem is today the National Legal Adviser of the Peoples’Democratic Party, PDP, can be attributed to years of strategic commitment to the party and people-centred politics.
As a young man, he was elected Chairman of his Local Government Area, Etim Ekpo, in 1997. Before then he had served as Legal Adviser of the Etim Ekpo chapter of the Social Democratic Party in 1992. In both offices, he displayed uncommon attachment to the grassroots making him, till date, one of the genuine grassroots political Generals’ in the state.
He became State Treasurer of the PDP between 2001 and 2007. He was admitted into the State Caucus of the party in 2006.
In 2007, Barr Enoidem was appointed Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal by then Governor Godswill Akpabio. He was later moved to the Ministry of Special Duties in 2013 and in 2015, Governor Udom Emmanuel appointed him Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Investment.
The former Lecturer at the University of Uyo attended the Northern Annang Secondary Commercial School, Utu Etim Ekpo and the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Law in 1988. He was called to the Nigerian Bar as Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court in 1989.
