Archbishop Cletus Bassey
Notable Religious Leader
He is one of the most influential leaders of the Christian Community in Akwa Ibom State who has served variously as Chairman of the state chapters of both the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, and the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN.
Archbishop Cletus Bassey has had a little over 40 years of service in the vineyard of the Gospel.
During the ceremony marking his 40th anniversary on the pulpit, a strong ‘national’ delegation led by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and including former Abia State Governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, attended, underscoring the impact his service has had on the public.
When he had an encounter with Christ, he became more serious in his service as a Mass servant and doubled his commitment to the Catholic Youth Movement as a practicing Catholic and one with a sight on the priesthood.
A move to the United States of America for further studies will see him coming back into full Pentecostalism, establishing Destiny International Mission and Vision Christian Institute and Seminary.
Through the ministry, he has impacted positively in the lives of worshippers. He is a Television and Radio preacher who also runs an evangelical arm, Winning A Generation for Christ Crusade through which he reaches out to unsaved souls across the nations.
Archbishop Bassey holds Bachelor’s, Masters and Doctorate degrees from the Logos Christian College and Graduate School, Jacksonville, Florida and Trinity College of Ministerial Arts.
He is also a philanthropist who runs Health and Education Schemes through his Ministry.
