Industrialist and Statesman

The name Jackson Devos is a name that is synonymous with business success in the old Cross River State. The power behind that success is Otuekong Sunny Jackson Udoh, a goal-driven, astute and industrious business mogul that has contributed immensely to the industrial growth of his society. He is easily remembered as an industry mentor, bridge builder and a worthy statesman. His contributions to the business climate of the old Cross River and Akwa Ibom States include Jackson Group Holding Limited; Nkana Agro-Based Industries Limited; Jackson Devos Limited/Jackson Devos (FZE), among others.

His pioneering effort at installing a truly organized private sector in both states is what stands him out as a forward-looking industrialist.
Otuekong Sunny Jackson Udoh was educated at Textile Institute of Technology Kortryik, Belgium, where he obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND). He had a brief stint working in Lagos at Douglas and Stevenson Limited, Lagos where he served as Manager and Business Development Manager.

His ability to organize men and materials led to the leadership roles he played in many organized private sector organizations that helped shape national and regional private participation by individuals in the economy of the country. He served as National President of Association Of Nigeria Exporters (ANE); National President of National Association Of Carpet Manufacturers (NACAM) and Chairman of Cross River State/Akwa Ibom State Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN).

Born on 18th August, 1945 at Nkana Iman in Etinan LGA, Otuekong Sunny Jackson Udoh was elected into the Cross River State House of Assembly in 1983. Since then, he has played prominent roles in the political and social development of Akwa Ibom State and the South-South region, becoming a founding member of the South-South Peoples Assembly.
